We just learnt that 2 days ago (i.e. on the 3rd of January, 2018), the popular Nigerian Afropop artist called Oladapo Daniel Oyebanjo best known as D'banj was honoured with a chieftancy title in his village at Amuzi Obowoland, Imo state.
The koko-master was given the title "Enyi Ka Nwanne Amuzi" by the paramount ruler of the Amuzi Obowoland kingdom. Dbanj rocked the traditional Igbo ‘isi agu’ attire while being flanked by his friend and business partner, Damian Ifeanyi Okoroafor, manage Frank Amudo and hypeman, Jimmie as he received the title.

This news of Dbanj receiving a Chieftaincy title got many Nigerians wondering whether Chieftaincy titles have now become a commodity or a merchandise which can be bought and sold. According to many people, Dbanj has done nothing to his community to deserve a chieftaincy title. Maybe he was awarded a chieftaincy title just to publicize the "commodity" so as to encourage other people to come and buy it.
It should be noted that 1 month ago, Thiery Henry; the Former Arsenal and France international visited Lagos, Nigeria to promote the "Guinness Made of Black programme" and he was also given the chieftaincy title "Igwe of football’ in Nigeria. How can a person who who knows nothing about the igbo people and their culture be given a chieftaincy title. This clearly suggest that money was involved. Just like the bible says Money answereth all things.
what is this???
